📅Date:22 March 2026 (Sunday)

📍Venue:Kai Tak Sports Park

Introduction

The International Sheng and Reeds Festival, conceptualized by Yan Huichang (Artistic Director and Principal Conductor for Life), will be held both in-person and online, with Hong Kong serving as the main hub and connecting events across various regions. This festival uniquely integrates culture, sports, and tourism.

The Festival will be inaugurated by the large-scale event, the "Endless Sheng, Thousand Reeds in Harmony Marathon," which will bring together around one thousand enthusiasts of reed instruments from both East and West to set two World Records. The event will commence at the Nine Dragons sculpture in Kai Tak Sports Park. Ensembles formed by different instruments will give flash performances at key landmarks across the park, culminating in a grand gathering at East Village for a joint performance with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (HKCO). The evening will conclude with an outdoor concert, broadcast live worldwide via 5.5G technology, inviting global audiences to share in the splendour and witness the world record-setting moment together.

Business Opportunities

Travel agents experienced in organising educational tours are invited to reach out to schools or groups, both in the Mainland and abroad, that may be interested in joining this significant event in Hong Kong. These agencts should develop tailored itineraries for their visits. If groups express interest but have limited or no experience with the relevant musical instruments, the HKCO can facilitate a training arrangement by connecting them with qualified instructors.
